Uttarakhand would face hail/squall in some parts 24hours, forecasted the regional meteorological center from the afternoon or evening of November 3. There are also chances of snowfall in places with a height of 3500 meters and the above during this period. Dehradun is also targeted to experience heavy rainfall or thundershower on Saturday which might make the mercury dip and welcome the winter.
As per the forecast, rainfall is likely to lash some isolated places in districts like Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Pithoragarh, and snowfall in places of higher altitude starting from afternoon/evening of Saturday. A yellow watch warning is issued by the department on the likelihood of thundershower at isolated places in the above- mentioned districts.
The mercury has not plummet enough to bring the winter chill but there are eager waiters for the real winter. “It has been a long time since it rained here. We are impatiently waiting for the pre-winter rain which might prove a harbinger of the long-awaited chill normal to winter” said a resident of the city.
The Met officers, however, said that the winter chills will be completely felt by the end of November unless there are any rains in between.
