Uttarakhand: Two minor girls gangraped in Champawat, two accused absconded after the incident

The gangrape case has emerged from two minors in Lohaghat and Barakot. The case of Barakot is one and a half months old, while the incident of Lohaghat was two days earlier. In both cases, on behalf of the victim’s side, a case was filed against the accused in the Lohaghat police station on Sunday.

The police arrested the accused of misbehaving with the teenager in Lohaghat and were presented in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, from where the two accused were sent to jail. At the same time, four accused of rape were absconding in Barakot.

A villager from Lohaghat alleged in Tahrir in the police station that Shamim Ansari and Iqbal Hussain, residents of Champaran district of Bihar, who worked as a mason, mistreated her on March 8 with her minor sister.

SHO Manish Khatri said that on Sunday, both the accused have been arrested and sent to jail on Sunday, under the laws of Section 363, 366A, 376, 506, 3/4 Pocso Act. The case is being investigated by Babita.

On the other hand, a woman from a village in Barakot alleged that Pradeep Officer of a village in Vikaskhand, alias Goldi and Ravindra Nath, forced on her 17-year-old daughter on 24th January with the intention of misbehaving. After this, on March 8, the accused’s relative Rakesh officer and Hritik officer used abusive language, rampaged and used casteist words.

The SO said that on Sunday, the case has been registered against the accused under section 323, 376, 452, 504, 506, 511, 7/8 Pocso, Section 10, 11, 3A, SC-ST act. Police investigation officer Naresh Chand is investigating the case. All the accused are absconding. Read more posts…
