There is good news for the candidates who have been deprived of applying for a post-10th and pre-10th scholarship for the year 2018-19. Social Welfare Department has extended the last date of application in view of the problems of the candidates. Now the last date for application is 20 November.
The department made it clear that the deadline will not be extended in any case after the due date. In such a situation, the student or the concerned educational institution will be responsible for any student being deprived. On behalf of District Social Welfare Officer Jeet Singh Rawat, a letter has been sent to educational institutions including the Chief Education Officer.
Educational institutions also warned
The departmental officer has said that in most applications it is seen that the application is made on time by the student, but the application is not checked in time by the educational institution and the applications are forwarded to the departmental office with delay. In such cases, the responsibility of the student to be deprived of the scholarship will rest with the educational institution concerned.
Amar Ujala raised the problem
Amar Ujala had raised the problem of the students prominently by publishing the news titled ‘Certificates are not being made, so what are ours’? The last date for the first application was October 31. During this time the work of making certificates was affected due to the duty of Tehsil personnel in the Panchayat elections. Due to which the students were also denied the application.

– Caste and Income Certificate issued by the Revenue Department
– Student’s bank account
– Aadhaar Card Number
– Permanent Residence Certificate
OBC Scholarship Annual Income Scope Increased
The annual income limit has been increased in pre and post-matric scholarship for backward caste candidates on behalf of social welfare. The annual income in the pre-10th scholarship was fixed at Rs.44500, which has been increased to 2.5 lakhs. While the annual income limit in post-10th scholarship has also been increased from Rs 1 lakh to1.5 lakh.
The revised income limit will be applicable to the applications for this financial year 2019-20. On behalf of District Social Welfare Officer Jeet Singh Rawat, a letter in this regard has been informed to the education officers of the districts. However, this amendment will be valid only for backward castes. According to the department, this amendment has been made with the aim of increasing the number of characters in the scheme.
Students of class 1 and 2 will also get the benefit
The amendment in the scholarship scheme has also increased the scope of classes in the pre-10th scholarship. Classes 1 and 2 have also been included in this scholarship. Whereas till now the benefit of the pre-10th scholarship was given only from class 3 to 10.
