Semester system will continue in the university campus and private colleges
Sridev Suman Uttarakhand University decided in Academic Council meeting
The semester system is over in 52 government colleges of Garhwal division. However, the campus system will remain in force at university campuses and private colleges. On Tuesday, it was approved in the Academic Council meeting of Sridev Suman Uttarakhand University. There will be annual examinations for graduation in June 2020 in government colleges.
On Tuesday, the Academic Council meeting was held in Dehradun under the chairmanship of Dr. PP Dhyani, Vice-Chancellor of Sridev Suman University. In the meeting, the letter discussing the end of the semester system from the government was discussed.
The issue arose in the meeting that Kumaon University has already finished the UG semester system. In such a situation, two types of examination system cannot be run in two government universities in the state. Therefore, it was decided that the semester system of the students who have been admitted to graduation in the same year at Sridev Suman University is being abolished. Semester system will be applicable in Gopeshwar, Rishikesh campus and private colleges of Sridev Suman University.
All other 52 government colleges will conduct annual examinations from this semester instead of the semester system. Since this decision was taken when the first semester examinations were to be held in December, it has also been decided that the annual examinations will be held in June 2020 this time.
Government only sent letters to government colleges
After this, their time will be improved. In a university, questions related to two types of examination systems are being questioned. On this question of the annual examinations in government colleges and the semester system in private colleges, the chancellor of Sridev Suman University, Prof. PP Dhyani says that the government has sent the letter only to government institutions. Therefore, the semester system has been abolished only in government colleges. The semester system will be applicable to private colleges.
At the Academic Council meeting, the Director of the Rishikesh campus of the University, Prof. NP Maheshwari, Principal of Government College Barkot Prof. AK Tiwari, Dr. DS Mehra of Government College Uttarkashi, Dr. RS Chauhan, Controller of Examinations of the University, Dr. BS Bisht, former Director of Higher Education, Principal of Government College Tehri, Prof. Ashok Kumar, Principal of Government College Command, Prof. Pushpa Negi, Dr. DC Benzwal from University’s Rishikesh campus, Registrar Sudhir Budakoti was also present.
