Uttarakhand: Regarding the possible threat of floods and landslides, the government issued advisories in these areas.

The Uttarakhand government has instructed all the district collectors to make all kinds of preparations related to disaster management prior to the monsoon. In this regard, an Advisory of 29 points has been issued.

They have been asked to prepare for all kinds of measures to tackle vigilance and danger in the situation of floods, the susceptibility to sensitive sites of landslide and natural disasters. Secretary Disaster Management, Amit Singh Negi has issued these advisories.

Emphasis on keeping flood control centers active 24 hours
The District Magistrates have been instructed to hold meetings of the District Disaster Management Authority. In these meetings, the work plan of disaster management should be prepared. Its minutes should be made available to the government.

On the basis of priority in the districts, the emphasis has been laid on setting up of emergency operation centers during the monsoon and flood control centers for 24 hours.

Special alert about the water level of rivers
In order to effectively implement the work plan of disaster management, instructions have been given to designate a departmental nodal officer for coordination with each district-level department. Nodal officers have been asked to provide names and mobile numbers in the emergency operation center and state emergency operation center.

During the monsoon, the Government has directed to take special vigilance regarding the water level of the rivers. For monitoring, central water commission, disaster reduction center, irrigation department, and meteorological department have been asked to keep a close watch on the flow of rivers and water level.

A special look at landslides in these areas
It has been asked to prepare the plans for preparations related to flood protection in the plains of the places like Haridwar, Dehradun, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar. Due to being sensitive to the landslide of some areas of Kapkot, Dharchula, Munsari, Rudraprayag, Mori, Natwad, Chamoli district of the state, they have been asked to keep a close watch on them. If the route is blocked by landslides, the action plan of the alternative route will also be prepared.
