The current sports policy of the state was made in the year 2014, which has long been felt to be revised in view of the changed circumstances and challenges. Departmental officials say that in the new policy, the amount of prize money given to players at national and international levels can be increased.

This will not only increase their honor but will motivate them to perform better in sports. Apart from this, it is also possible to increase the cash award for coaches. Necessary steps can be taken in the new policy, especially to prevent the migration of players from the state.

Departmental officials say that sports policies of Haryana, Kerala, Delhi, and Punjab will be studied. After studying the policies of these states, some important things can be included in the new sports policy of the state to encourage the players.

A proposal for a new sports policy is being prepared. The proposal will be brought to the cabinet after a few more meetings. In the new sports policy, there will be a special focus on encouraging the players by increasing the facilities and respect.
