2852 for driving without DL vehicle in the state, 9923 challans on wrong number plates
Traffic police conduct a campaign for 15 days, lowest action in Dehradun
During the 15-day campaign across the state, the traffic police apprehended 2852 people driving without a driving license. While 9923 people were invoiced for the installation of defective number plates. Most invoices were done in Nainital and the lowest in Dehradun.
On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Traffic only, Khurana, a special campaign was carried out across the state from December 1 to 15. The DIG said that 185 minors were caught on charges of driving in checking. Nainital police topped the action against those driving faulty number plates and DL vehicles.
In the Nainital district, 2859 invoices were received on defective number plates and 740 without DL. The second number was Udham Singh Nagar Police. In both cases, 2135 and 701 challans respectively were invoiced here. Haridwar 55 Minor drivers were invoiced. Dehradun had the least action during the campaign. The DIG said that such operations will continue in the future also to follow the traffic rules.
