The job of more than 500 education makers, post-secondary and ad hoc teachers in the state can lose their job any time after 31st March. The Union Human Resource Development Ministry has refused to give extra time to untrained education makers who did not pass the bridge and TET course till March 31, 2019. This has left the sword on the job of thousands of teachers across the country.

Despite being given four years time, all the teachers did not meet the qualification. Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni said that the demand was granted for the extra time, but the ministry refused. The ministry said that we are worried about teachers’ jobs, but more than that, those children who are being taught by untrained teachers are worrisome.

Relaxation to specific BTC teachers
Despite this order of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the employment of 16608 specialized BTC teachers of the state will not be harmed The Central Government had also instructed these teachers to pass the bridge course by 31 March 2019.

But, in the bill passed in Parliament, these teachers got relief from this obligation. Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni said that the ministry has convened a meeting of Uttarakhand government, NCTE and NCERT officials in Delhi on Friday on the issue of specific BTC teachers.
