The special train reached Haridwar from Bangalore at 11 am on Thursday. 1070 workers from Uttarakhand boarded the train and reached Haridwar. The Railway Department’s official staff clapped and welcomed everyone.

On the other hand, a special train carrying 1700 migrants from Uttarakhand is expected to reach Lalkuan on Thursday. Officials of the district and police administration, railway, Lonivi, and transport department inspected the Lalkuan railway station on Wednesday about arrangements being made to take them all to their homes.

Two days ago, the Shramik Special train reached Kathgodam railway station carrying 1200 migrants. Now another special train is bringing migrants. Due to less space at Kathgodam railway station, the train will be stopped at the Lalkuan railway station. Officials of the concerned departments are preparing to send all the passengers to their homes.

Officers, led by SDM Vivek Roy, Additional Superintendent of Police Amit Srivastava, who reached Lalkuan station on Wednesday, observed the arrangements for two hours. The SDM told that a 24-bogie train will probably arrive on Thursday. A thermal screening of all the visiting people will be done. They will then be sent to various places in Kumaon.

He told that three evacuation gates are being constructed at Lalkuan station. Two of these will be used for commuting, while the third will be kept as a precautionary safety measure.

People will be sent to the destination with social distancing in 60 buses

Divisional General Manager of Transport Corporation Yashpal Singh said that after getting off the train in Lalkuan, people will be sent to the destination with social distancing in 60 buses. Along with barricading at Lalkuan railway station, places have also been selected for standing buses.

Executive Engineer Himmat Singh Rawat, CO D.C. Dhaudiyal, Assistant General Manager of Transport Corporation Surendra Bisht, Station Superintendent Neeraj Kumar, Inspector in-charge of Railway Protection Force B.K. Singh, Kotwali in-charge Sudhir Kumar, Revenue Department Inspector Mohit Bora, etc. were present.

Kathgodam Railway Police will handle arrangements in Lalkuan

GRP Kathgodam Police Station President Ashok Kumar told that there is a GRP post in Lalkuan; Kathgodam will handle arrangements at GRP Lalkuan railway station in case of train arrival. Police personnel will be sent to Lalkuan as soon as the train arrives. RPF inspector Randeep Kumar said that the soldiers would be sent from Kathgodam if needed.
