Uttarakhand in the fourth position with 41 medals in Athletics Championship

At the 31st North Zone Junior Athletics Championships, Uttarakhand finished fourth overall with 41 medals. At the same time, Uttarakhand stood third in the boys category. On the final day of the competition, Uttarakhand won 15 medals including four gold.

Various events took place in the competition held in Sangrur, Punjab. Uttarakhand Athletics Association secretary KJS Kalsi said that Ramneet Kaur won the gold medal in the under-16 girls’ flywheel throw competition. This is her second gold medal in the competition.

In the 200 meter race, Anisha won the silver medal. On the other hand, in the under-16 boys category, Ankit Bhatt won the gold in the 2000 meter race, Gopal Thakur won the bronze in the 200 meter race, Yogesh Sandal in the discus throw bronze.

In the under-18 boys’ triple jump, Rakesh Roshan won the gold medal, Honey in the javelin throw won silver, Satyam won bronze in the discus throw, Gaurav Kumar won bronze in the 400m hurdles, Siddharth won bronze in the 1500m race, Uttarakhand also won bronze in 110m in the hurdles and in the medley relay.

Apart from this, in the discus throw of under-20 boys category, Vaibhav Chauhan won gold, Aniket Kala won silver and Ankush won silver in 10,000 meter race. In the competition, Uttarakhand won 14 gold, 16 silver and 11 bronze medals.
