In trains running across the country, now passengers will be allocated seats on the lines of air-conditioned and sleeper class. The passengers will be allowed to only occupy all the seats present in the general coach of the trains.
According to officials, this step is being taken to protect the passengers from the coronavirus infection. Earlier, there was no reservation for general coaches on trains. There was also no limit on the allocation of general tickets by the Railways.
In such a situation, there was a fierce battle for seats in the general coaches of all trains. The situation was that about 200 passengers sat in a 90-seat general coach. Now that the risk of corona infection is looming, the railway has also changed it.
Station Director Ganesh Chand Thakur said that now all the trains operated from Dehradun will have normal coaches, tickets will be issued to the passengers from the ticket counter according to the seats.
The passengers will be allotted seats on the ticket. Apart from seats, no one else will be allowed to travel on trains. The new system will be implemented soon.
