After being allowed to open tourism and religious activities in Uttarakhand during Unlock-1, the state government has started preparing to start the Chardham Yatra. After June 8, the government will start the Chardham Yatra in limited numbers.

Government spokesman and cabinet minister Madan Kaushik said that Chardham Yatra will be started in the state from June 8. But the journey will start with a limited number. After getting permission to operate buses from other states, Chardham Yatra will be opened for tourists and pilgrims from other states.

Kaushik said that the state government is in talks with several states for operating buses. It will be decided to operate the buses only after the mutual consent of both the states. Due to the Corona epidemic, the operation of the yatra is completely stopped right after the opening of the doors of the famous Dham Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath. With the commencement of Chardham Yatra, businessmen associated with the tourism industry will get relief.

The pilgrim priests of Kedarnath have demanded not to allow the pilgrimage in June. Said to conduct the journey only when the condition is normal after corona infection is over. He demanded the administration to allow Yagya-havan in the temple of Lord Bhairavnath. On this occasion, the memorandum was submitted to the DM regarding the demands including dissolution of the Devasthanam Board.

In a meeting chaired by District Magistrate Vandana Singh Chauhan, the pilgrims said that if possible, the yatra should be started after the month of September and proper time should be given to fix their buildings and business establishments in Dham. He said that Devasthanam Board has been formed on behalf of the government without taking them into confidence, which is unfair. Online worship is being done by the government in Chardham, which is affecting their economic interests as well.
