The central government has made a major change in the three free LPG cylinders provided under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). It was announced in the lockdown that three free gas cylinders would be given under the scheme from 1 April to 30 June.
In order to buy cylinders, funds were being deposited in the consumer’s account in advance, but the third LPG cylinder would have to be paid by the consumer first. Later the amount will be transferred to the account. That is, the amount will not be received in advance for the third LPG cylinder. There are more than two lakh beneficiaries of the scheme in Uttarakhand. Out of these, about one and a half lakh people have purchased cylinders under the scheme.
The amount will come to the account as soon as you buy the cylinder
IOC sales manager Sudhir Kashyap said that now the funds will be added to the account only. When the beneficiary purchases a gas cylinder. Under this, the oil company will wait for the confirmation of the LPG distributor. That is, as soon as the concerned LPG distributor informs the oil company and this data will be updated on the website of the oil company, the amount will be transferred to the account of the respective account holder.
