Cashless work will soon begin in the Transport Department. For this, an agreement has been made with HDFC Bank. The bank will install POS (point of sale) or swipe machines here within a month. This work will be started in the Dehradun RTO office from November. After this, its work will be done in the remaining departments.
Specifically, no additional fees will be charged for depositing fees by debit or credit card. Secretary Transport Shailesh Bagoli at the Secretariat discussed various banks regarding the installation of POS machines. During this time, representatives of HDFC Bank said that the problems faced by installing the machine will be resolved soon. The cooperation of NIC is also being taken for this.
Actually, the Transport Department has already tied up with HDFC Bank to install these machines and finance has also given its consent on this. Secretary Transport expected the bank officials to install the machines within a week and then start testing it.
During this, discussions were held with the officials of SBI and ICICI Bank regarding the installation of POS machines. In this, the final decision has not been taken to not make additional charges for depositing fees with a credit card. However, it is believed that some way will be worked out in this regard soon.
Secretary Transport Shailesh Bagoli has confirmed this. He said that the department intends to install POS machines in the Dehradun office within a month. After this, the work of installing POS machines will be started gradually in other offices.
