Mandi committee has decided to supply fruits and vegetables from Asthal at Maldevata, which the government has also stamped. Now, arrangements have been made for the supply of fruits and vegetables through mobile vehicles. At present, 25 vehicles will transport vegetables to different areas of the city as per requirement.
In Niranjanpur Mandi, the market was closed till 11 June on Thursday after several jobholders and employees were hit by the corona. After which alternative arrangements are being made to keep the supply in the city smooth. Market Secretary Vijay Prasad Thapliyal said that at present, only the Gram Sabha Asthal at Maldevata will be used for business.
Here fruits and vegetables will be ordered and transported through mobile vans across the city. Retail traders also have two to three days of stock available. In addition, inward quantity of vegetables continues from outside. In such a situation, a situation like shortage of fruits and vegetables will not be allowed in the city. The number of vehicles will also be increased as demand increases. Presently only 25 vehicles are being supplied.
Rishikesh-Vikasnagar is also an option
Market Secretary informed that supply of fruits and vegetables will also be supplied from the mandis of Rishikesh and Vikasnagar. The situation is normal in both the above-mentioned mandis and there is regular arrival. In such a situation, these mandis can be increased inward and also supplied in Doon.
Action will be taken if overrating
As soon as Niranjanpur market is closed, the retail vendors of the city have turned down on arbitrariness. There have been complaints of sudden doubling of prices of fruits and vegetables in many areas. In such a situation, the Mandi committee has formed two teams to take strict action against the over-rating. Those who have been entrusted with the responsibility of taking strict action against the concerned fruit-vegetable vendor on receiving the complaint. These teams are formed under the leadership of Mandi Inspection Ajay Dabral and Dinesh Doval. One can complain on 9412382790 and 9412988792 if overrated is caught in the city.
