The wait for the new state executive of the state Congress has been prolonged. State President Pritam Singh has spent more than two years without an executive. The situation is that now the party leaders and workers are out of patience.
In the hope of setting up a new executive, party leaders from various regions of the state reached Delhi the previous day. Several central leaders, including national general secretaries, secretaries, state presidents, state in-charge and Leader of Opposition in the assembly attended a meeting convened by the Congress High Command on Thursday in Delhi.
After attending this meeting, State Congress President Pritam Singh and Leader of Opposition Indira Hridayesh met state in-charge Anugraha Narayan Singh and other central leaders on Friday. State President Pritam Singh said that a discussion has been held between the state in-charge and the National General Secretary Organization regarding the formation of a new executive. It will be decided soon.
He said that the state organization would organize various programs on the 150th birth anniversary of President Mahatma Gandhi. The membership campaign will be intensified throughout the state. Training programs will be conducted for the appointment of motivators in the districts. The Congress will take to the streets in the state against the recession and faulty policies of the economy.
