After private universities, now state universities have also agreed to take the exam in the coming July. However, the examination will be decided after May 17 as per the new guidelines of the Center. Minister of State for Higher Education (Independent Charge) Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that there will be online admission for the new academic session. The new academic session in September, while for older students, the session will start in August.

Minister of State for Higher Education (Independent Charge) Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat on Thursday spoke to the Vice-Chancellors and Registrars of all state universities through video conferencing from the Edusat Center located at Doon University campus. At the meeting, Minister of State for Higher Education Dr. Rawat instructed the Vice-Chancellors of all universities to implement a digital locker system compulsorily. He said that earlier students had to visit the universities for their mark sheets and degrees, but the system of digital locker would not cause any problem to the students.

Dr. Rawat informed that universities will upload mark sheets and degrees on digital locker. After this, the students will be able to download their documents by entering the prescribed code at just sitting at home. Not only this, but it will also facilitate the government departments to verify the educational certificates of the candidate at the time of appointment.

Vice-chancellors said that about 70 percent of students in online education were present in universities. He claimed to have completed 80 percent of the course. All universities agreed to take the exam in July. Higher Education Minister Dr. Rawat said that in the fourth phase of the lockdown, the central government will issue new guidelines. Only after this, a decision will be taken on the examination. He instructed the universities to keep complete preparation for the examination both online and offline.

Information regarding payment of salaries of employees was taken from the Vice-Chancellors in the meeting. It was told that all universities have paid salaries for all their personnel. Higher Education Advisor Prof. MSM Rawat and Prof. KD Purohit, Vice Chancellors of State Universities, Higher Education Dr. Ashok Kumar were present on the occasion.
