The government will conduct schemes related to renewable energy
The central government has identified Gandhinagar and Dehradun as green cities in the country. With the help of the center, projects will be prepared to encourage renewable energy in the city. This was revealed by Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. He was inaugurating the Solar Roof Top Scheme of the Energy Department at the Chief Minister’s residence.
The Chief Minister said that making Dehradun a green city will help in spreading the awareness of the environment in the state and realizing the dream of a tourism state. Solar power generation is being given attention to government buildings in the state.
It has been started from the government buildings in Haridwar and Dehradun. This will generate 2.75 MW power. He said that due to measures to reduce harm to the environment, attention to alternative energy will help in preserving the environment. The Chief Minister said that due to our pure environment there has been a 36 percent increase in tourist traffic in the state.
These will be efforts
It will start with municipal corporations, government offices, and public institutions. The state government will also encourage private establishments and local citizens of the city to join the renewable energy scheme. So that Dehradun can be developed as a green city.
An action plan will be submitted to the center soon
The Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has sought an action plan from the state government to make Dehradun a green city. Secretary Energy Radhika Jha says that soon a proposal will be submitted to the Ministry in this regard. The city will be developed as a green city in a phased manner. There will also be a grant from the center for this.
