To promote the AYUSH industry in the mountains, the Uttarakhand government will give an additional subsidy of up to Rs 1.5 crore to investors. Under the Industrial Development Scheme and MSME Policy, financial incentives will be provided by the government for investing.
In addition, the Department of AYUSH will also provide additional subsidy up to a maximum of 1.5 crores to the investors. The government has also made a provision in the Ayush policy. The government believes that with the promotion of the AYUSH industry in the mountains, the Ayurveda system of medicine will be recognized.
The Trivendra government has a focus on the wellness center, Panchkarma, Ayush Pharmaceutical, in view of the investment potential in the AYUSH sector in the hilly region of the state. For this, the government has formulated the AYUSH policy for the first time. Under this policy, investors will be given additional subsidy if they invest in wellness centers, resorts, pharmaceuticals, and Panchkarma in the mountains.
At the same time, under the MSME policy, the government is giving many types of financial incentives to investors. Investors in the AYUSH sector will get the benefit of all financial incentives from the Department of Industries. But the maximum subsidy of up to 1.5 crores will be given by the Ayush Department.
Wellness resort will be built in Mussoorie and Ramnagar
Secretary AYUSH, RK Sudhanshu says the MoU was signed at the Investors Summit on an investment proposal of Rs 1751 crore in the Ayush sector. So far, work has started on investment of 250 crores in which wellness resorts are being built in Mussoorie and Ramnagar.
Features in MSME policy
On investing in the MSME sector, the government has divided the entire state into four categories and has made a provision for grant of subsidy and interest rate rebate for setting up machinery according to the category. For setting up small industries in ‘A’ category districts, 40 percent subsidy for machinery and a 10 percent discount on interest rate is being given. Similarly, a 35 percent subsidy will be given in the ‘B’ category, 25 percent in the ‘C’ category and 15 percent in the ‘D’ category.

A. Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Champawat, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar District.
B. Pauri Garhwal, Mountain block of Tehri, Nainital, Dehradun District.
Kotdwar, Sigaddi, Dhalwala of Tehri, Muni ki Reti, Kotabagh of Tapovan Nainital and Kalsi block of Dehradun in B Plus Pauri district.
C. Raipur, Sahaspur, Vikasnagar, Doiwala, Ramnagar and Haldwani blocks.
D. Haridwar, Udhamsingh Nagar District, Dehradun and Nainital District (excluding the area covered in B, B Plus and C category).
The government has formulated a policy to promote the AYUSH sector in the state. The AYUSH department will provide a separate subsidy of Rs 1.5 crores to investors for setting up wellness centers, Panchkarma, and resorts in the mountains. There is a lot of investment potential in the Ayush sector in the state. Due to investment, tourism will also increase in the state and local people will get employment opportunities.
