The exercise has been started to provide free coaching of competitive examinations to SC and ST students. Under the scheme for three years, Government will provide free coaching for state-level competitive examinations along with IAS, PCS this year. Directorate of Social Welfare has sent a proposal to the government regarding the selection of coaching centers. Students will be selected in July.
Director of Social Welfare, Vinod Goswami said that applications of 11 institutions have come from other districts including Haldwani, Haridwar, Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar of Civil Services Pre-training Scheme. Proposals have been sent to the government for selection of applications. Students will be selected on a first come, first served basis. For this, the advertisement will be released in June. After this, the place will be marked according to the convenience of the students. Goswami said that earlier the money for the coaching was sent to students’ accounts, but this time the funds will be given directly to the institutions. This coaching of competitive examinations will be for five months. Budget arrangements have also been made. There is a plan to provide free coaching to 300 students this year. The government will spend Rs 75 lakh on this.
The exercise of providing free coaching to SC / ST students has started. After the selection of institutions in June, students will be selected in July.
