Search and rescue team trained from the villagers

After the extreme sensitive disasters of Uttarakhand, search and rescue operations will start immediately after any kind of disaster from now. After nine years of effort, 655 out of 670 judicial panchayats of the state, 16571 have been trained in the wake of search and rescue work. In times of disaster or accident, all these people will be able to work immediately in rescue operations without waiting for government machinery in their respective areas.
It is not unknown that entire Uttarakhand with heterogeneous geography is very sensitive in view of the disaster. Which is why the Ministry of Disaster Management is created in the state, but still the problem of human resources in search and rescue operations after the disaster or road accidents was coming as a big problem.
In view of this, the Ministry of Disaster Management decided to set up teams of such people at the village level, who are expert in search and rescue. For this, from the year 2010, judicial panchayat wise 20 to 25 people were selected and trained to make the trends. Not only that, it was decided to give these parties the necessary equipment for the search and rescue operations.
According to DM Pandit’s Executive Director Dr. Puoush Routela, after tireless efforts in the last nine years, 16571 people have been trained in 656 judicial panchayats of remaining 11 districts except for Haridwar and Udhamsinghnagar. All of these will be able to immediately gather in search and rescue operations in case of any kind of disaster.
All these districts have been given complete details including a mobile number along with the concerned districts. The entire data has also been uploaded on the DMMC’s site.
