Ranikhet police have made the first arrest in the SC-ST OBC post-graduation scholarship irregularity case in Uttarakhand. The case was registered on January 10 this year after an investigation by the SIT in the embezzlement case of Rs 14,23080.
Fake forms of the scholarship of 18 students were filled from the schools of the Ranikhet region. In this case, Scholarship Section Incharge of Monard University, Hapur, arrested by Ranikhet police and produced in court, after which he has been sent to jail.
SSI Basanti Arya, engaged in deliberations, said that the scholarship scam was investigated by the SIT team. On January 10, 2020, an indictment was registered in Kotwali Ranikhet against Deputy Manager Monard University, Hapur and unknown middlemen, for misappropriating criminal conspiracy by preparing a misappropriated document amounting to Rs 14,23080 from the District Social Welfare Office, Almora.
Since then, the matter was under intense scrutiny. He said that with deep deliberation, the involvement of Late. Harish Gupta’s son Anuj Gupta, an employee of Monard University, resident of New Shivpuri Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, was found. The same person had taken fake scholarship applications from Ranikhet schools. After this, neither the children got scholarship nor any course was done.
