Amar Ujala raised the problem of students on November 20
School-colleges were not getting registered on the portal, students were being denied the application
Social Welfare Department has given relief to the students who have been deprived of applying for a scholarship due to the negligence of schools in Uttarakhand. The department has extended the application date to 30 November.
Amar Ujala, in the November 20 issue titled ‘Ask your school, what should we do’, had raised this problem of the candidates. It was told that many schools have not registered in the scholarship portal, due to which students are not able to apply on the portal.
On the very next day after the news was published, it has been decided by the IT Cell of the Social Welfare Department to extend the last date for the scholarship application for the year 2019-20. Information in this regard has been given to District Social Welfare Officer Jeet Singh Rawat through a letter.
Also, complete the verification of 2018-19
In a letter sent by Hemlata Pandey, guidelines have also been issued for verification of scholarship for the year 2018-19. In which it has been said that the department should do physical verification of scholarship applications by 30 November. On the other hand, due to the non-completion of physical verification, the students of the previous year are not able to apply for the scholarship for the next year. The renewal option is not available on the portal.
The last date for the scholarship application for the year 2019-20 has been extended till 30 November. All the students who have been denied application should apply by the due date. Schools and colleges should also be registered on the portal soon.
