Prof. Om Prakash Singh Negi became the Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Open University

Dr. Om Prakash Singh Negi, Professor of Physics, has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Open University in Kumaun University’s SSJ campus Almora. In this regard, the Governor and the University’s Chancellor Baby Queen Maurya have issued the order.

Prof. Negi is originally a resident of Sargaon of Pokhari Garhwal’s Yamkeshwar block. Professor born in poor farmer family Negi got primary education from the village primary school. After this, 10th to BSc from Tehri, MSc from Garhwal University, Srinagar and PhD from Kumaon University, Nainital.

After this, he did postdoctoral in Germany. In 1982, he got the first posting at Rishikesh State College but he went to Kumaon University. Since then he has played many important responsibilities including Proctor, Chief Warden. He said that he will work to make the future of the youth of the state better
