The annual initiation ceremony will be held on October 4 at IIT Roorkee. This year, President Ram Nath Kovind will be present as the chief guest at the initiation ceremony. During the ceremony, the President will provide medals to the toppers and outstanding performers. At the same time, the President’s speech can be heard by all the students receiving degrees, so this year, the institute is organizing a single day initiation ceremony, whereas for the last two years the initiation ceremony was being held for two days. However, this year the initiation ceremony will be held in three sessions.
Students of UG and PG will be given degrees in different sessions. On October 4, the first session of the initiation ceremony will start at ten o’clock in the morning. After this, the second session will start from 2.30 pm. In this, UG students will be awarded degrees. While the third session will start at 6:30 pm. In this, the degree will be given to PG students.
On the other hand, there has been no change in the dress of the ceremony. Like last year, this year too, girl students will be seen in the Golden Border off White Sari and Blouse and the boy students will wear off White Long Kurta and Churidar Pajama. Dean Academic Prof. of IIT Roorkee, NP Padhi informed that the Chief Guest President Ram Nath Kovind will be present at the initiation ceremony this year.
