‘Bhishma Pitamah’ or ‘Political Guru’ as referred by his ministers, the former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Narayan Dutt Tiwari’s mortal remains were cremated with full State honors at Chitrashila Ghat on the banks of the Gaula River in Ranibagh here on Sunday.
Tiwari’s funeral procession began from the circuit house to the Chitrashila Ghat where his son Rohit Shekhar Tiwari lit the pyre. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Vidhan Sabha Speaker Premchand Aggarwal paid their tribute expressing that he is an irreparable loss to the country and society. Chief Minister said that his works would be carried out by the present Government as he would be remembered for his developmental works.
A large number of people apart from Chief Minister, the Cabinet Ministers along with other politicians from various parties were among those present on the occasion. Other dignitaries along with common people were also gathered to pay their last tribute to Tiwari.
