The ADG of police Ashok Kumar said on Monday that the police are under no pressure regarding the case of sexual harassment charge leveled against a senior BJP leader who was later relieved of his post.
A woman police officer headed an order of inquiry after she had received a complaint on email on November 10, said the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dehradun. He said that the police would take the necessary action.
The statement of the ADG police has assumed significance in view of the opposition Congress making the matter a plank for the upcoming urban local body polls. The Congress leaders have demanded vociferously for the immediate arrest of Sanjay Kumar while casting aspersion over the police’s impartiality on the sensitive case in view of its refusal to register FIR.
