According to the government’s decision, the height of the buildings will not be equal to 30 meters in uniform in Doon. The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority has incorporated a large portion of Rajpur road and Sahastradhara road in the foothills of the city. The maximum height of the buildings has been fixed at 21 meters with the area of the Foothills region. The Authority has decided and also fixed that the buildings beyond 21 meters will not be sanctioned in FootHills area.
On Monday, the decision was taken at the 96th Board Meeting of the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA). Apart from this, many important proposals were passed in the board meeting. In the meeting chaired by Mandalayukt BVRC Purushottam, it was also discussed about the hybrid zone in Doon so that buildings constructed more than 30 meters in such a zone could be built. However, it was later decided that only after solid study on the field situation it would be further extended. To prevent illegal plots, the penalty has been fixed at the per hectare rate. It has also been decided in the meeting that in the areas outside the municipal limits, there will be more fees to be passed on passing the map on the land without having a layout out. It was told that the actual purpose of the authorization is to prevent illegal plotting. Some other proposals were also approved in the meeting. In the meeting, MDDA Vice President Dr. Ashish Shrivastav, Municipal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Bhupesh Tiwari, Chief Town Planner SK Pant, Joint Secretary Rajendra Singh, Additional District Magistrate Ramji Sharan Sharma, Authorities Secretary GC Gunant, Joint Secretary Shailendra Singh Negi, etc. were present.
