NIT, Srinagar calls back the students who left en masse

The 900 students of National Institute of Technology, Srinagar Garhwal who decided to leave the institute pertaining to the improper campus issues have been called back by the authorities. The institute had put their efforts to persuade the students and their parents by sending them e-mails by the direction of the officiating director. The dean academic, registrar and heads of the departments sent e-mails to bring back the students to the college.

The students have boycotted their mid-term examination as a protest. The NIT administration has also decided to seek guidance from the NIT senate for this regard.  The officiating director R B Patel has asked all the heads of the departments to send proposals from their respective faculty boards for convening the meeting of the Senate. The NIT senate has 11 members chaired by the NIT director and registrar, the secretary. The members include representatives from IIT Roorkee, NIT Jaipur, and other reputed institutes.
