NATIONAL YOUTH DAY: A Tribute to Patriot Saint



Swami Vivekananda, an idealistic figure of our nation was born today on 12th January. Swami Vivekananda was a key figure who introduced philosophies of Vedanta and yoga to the western world, making Hinduism popular and bringing its status to the major religion during the late 19th century. His faith in spirituality and Youth was very well kept in front of everyone and this is why the day of his birth is celebrated as NATIONAL YOUTH DAY in India.
He strongly believed that Youth is the future of a nation. Youth is the best time. The way in which youth utilize this period will decide the nature of the coming years that lie ahead of our nation. These thoughts and beliefs of Swami Vivekananda not only motivates The youth but also inspires them to become a good human being and serve the nation.
On this day many activities are conducted in memory of Swami Vivekananda in order to spread his views all over the country and motivate the upcoming generation to work hard, enjoy their lives and not forget about becoming a responsible citizen of this nation. In schools, many cultural shows are organized and workshops are arranged for people in college. There are many theater groups who even perform plays at many patriotic places, which mainly centralize the Youth. Last year a play named “BHARAT KI NIVEDITA” was performed in Bhopal at Shaheed Bhawan on the occasion of NATIONAL YOUTH DAY. Also, there are many displays shown about the lifestyle of Swami Vivekananda on NATIONAL YOUTH DAY.
The main motive of celebrating NATIONAL YOUTH DAY is to spread awareness about the rights of youth, to make them realize their responsibilities and duties. A few organizations also set up workshops related to sex education and guest lectures about HIV/AIDS.
NATIONAL YOUTH DAY  celebration is a reminder of the power of the upcoming generation, The Youth. And to take over this power, we will have to grow from the inside out. No one can teach us, no one can make us spiritual as there is no other teacher but your own soul.
