After the code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections, the team of the corporation has started removing poster-banners on various roads of Dehradun city on Sunday evening. Upper town commissioner Neeraj Joshi said that the work of removing poster-banners has been started from Sunday evening. Soon the team will run the campaign throughout the city and take out poster-banners. On Monday also, posters and banners were removed in Rudrapur.
Due to the Code of Conduct, the development stopped
With the code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections, the development works in the departments like Municipal Corporation, Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority, Public Works Department etc. have been stopped. Only after the withdrawal of code of conduct will the development work begin. In the Municipal Corporation meeting, many development works were announced in the past. For this, the tender process was going to start, but on the lines of the code of conduct, all the work related to the road, drain, park etc. will not be able to reach till next three weeks. Similarly, all the work related to the tender for the construction of roads and the construction of roads by the Public Works Department will also be started after the withdrawal of code of conduct.
The construction of the road and park beautification, their construction was proposed by the Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority. Which will now be done after the withdrawal of code of conduct. Additional Municipal Commissioner Neeraj Joshi said that many development works have stopped due to the code of conduct. MDDA Vice President Dr Ashish Kumar Shrivastav said that now all the works will be started after the code of conduct will be removed. Chief Engineer of Lonivi Dehradun, Rajendra Goyal said that the work will be started soon after the tenders have been issued.
