LIC organizes a four-day sport

All India Life Insurance Corporation ( LIC) of India organizes four-day sports that started on Monday at Maharana Pratap Sports College.
The chief guest Managing Director (MD) of LIC, B Venugopal, addressed the congregation and said that the players would dedicate their sportsmanship during the event. He also expressed that the corporation is pleased to organize the annual national games in Dehradun. A march past by the teams representing Eight zones of LIC was witnessed in the opening ceremony.
In total, 392 players (250 Men, 442 Women) of LIC representing 112 divisional offices country are taking part in the events that include Athletics, Volleyball, Badminton, Carrom, Chess and Table Tennis.
On the first day, for the women and men category of a Triple jump, Joyleen Morl Lobo and Dheeram Mishra won gold medals. K A Yogesh won the 110-meter hurdle race in men’s category. In 200 meter race, Anu Marium and D L Jodge won gold in men and women categories respectively. Prem Singh Chauhan defeated Jayant Talukdar by 21-10 and 21-8 in a badminton match. Likewise, in volleyball, South Central zone team defeated East central zone by 25-7, 25-13, 25-17 and North zone scored 25-11, 25- 06 and 25-20 to win its match in another volleyball match on the day.
