Joint military exercise between India and Kazakhstan will be held in the Maitri Maidan of the Army from 3 to 14 October.
Brigadier SK Mandal (Army Medal), Commander 111 Independent Infantry Brigade will inaugurate joint maneuvers.
Today, after the national anthem of both countries, the joint exercise of Indo-Kazakhstan troops Kajind 2019 started in the Army Friendship Ground. For this, a team of 60 soldiers from Kazakhstan reached Pithoragarh on Wednesday.
About 200 soldiers from both countries are taking part in joint maneuvers. On behalf of India, two Rajput Regiment Joshimath soldiers are participating in the exercise. Major Bhup Singh, Company Commander of the two Rajput Regiments, told that today at the Maitri Maidan, Brigadier SK Mandal (Army Medal), Commander 111 Independent Infantry Brigade will launch a joint exercise.
There will be practice to deal with terrorist incidents
During the exercise, soldiers of both countries will be made to practice killing militants hiding in the jungle, hills, and houses. The soldiers will be given information about how to protect themselves from terrorist incidents in adverse and contrasting geographical conditions.
The soldiers of two Rajput regiments are already arriving here and practicing for joint exercises. The commanding officer of the regiment, Colonel Ajit Kumar Bahra (Army Medal) is giving information about the maneuvers to the soldiers. The joint exercises will conclude on 14 October.
