Jio overtook Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, Number of Customers Crossed 30 Crore

In March, Mukesh Ambani’s company Reliance Jio has overtaken Vodafone-Idea and Bharti Airtel in the number of subscribers. Indian Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released data of mobile subscribers of March, indicating that the number of subscribers of Airtel and Vodafone-Idea declined in March. At the same time, the number of customers from Jio has increased.

According to the data of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the number of subscribers of Vodafone-Idea decreased by 1.45 million during the month, while Bharti Airtel’s 1.51 million connections were reduced.

According to TRAI, the number of mobile connections of Vodafone-Idea by the end of March 2019 was 39.48 crores. By the end of March, the number of mobile subscribers of Bharti Airtel stood at 32.51 crores, while its rival Reliance Jio had 30.67 crores of subscribers.

According to TRAI, the total number of mobile subscribers in March was at 116.18 crore, which was 118.36 million by the end of February. In urban areas, the number of mobile subscribers was 65.04 crores till the end of March, which was 65.65 crores by the end of February. Similarly, the number of mobile subscribers in rural areas declined from 52.71 crores to 51.13 crores.
