Illegal buildings to be legalized under OTS

The government has issued a mandate to legalize illegal buildings under the One Time Settlement Scheme (OTS). Now, compounding can be done with fixed exemptions of different categories of medical and educational establishments, including single residential, commercial buildings. The compounding application will be accepted from the various development authorities of the state including the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) from Wednesday. However, applications for compounding will be accepted till 15 March 2019.
As per the order issued by Secretary Housing Nitesh Jha, the scheme of the one-time settlement will be applicable to residential, commercial buildings, ground coverage, and the flow area ratio (FAR). While there will be relaxation in minimum access points, minimum plot area, setback, parking etc. for commercial buildings built on residential laneways. Apart from this, various medical and educational establishments made in residential areas will be compounded with similar laxity in similar rules.
