In many major government hospitals, the ‘Inter-facility Transfer’ facility has now been started. This facility was instructed the Health Secretary Nitesh Jha, who has also instructed to deploy seven IF ambulances in the first phase. Three ambulances at Doon Medical College, Gandhi Hospital and Prem Nagar Community Health Center have been dep. Other vehicles will also be deployed in Rishikesh, Vikasnagar and Doon Hospital in next 2-3 days.
The state in-charge of GVK EMRI, Manish Tinku said that the purpose of the emergency service 108 is to provide the proper primary treatment during the emergency and reach the nearest health center. Many patients complaint to not receive treatment as needed which is why in a case like this the IFT facility provides all referral patients a shift to other hospitals only through these vehicles.
Health secretary Jha has also mentioned that the number of patients at Doon Medical College Hospital is ever increasing. Due to this, the hospital personnels, as well as the patients, face problems. They also do not reach on time for treatment. In order to deal with this situation,
the Health Secretary has also directed to start ‘Inter-Transfer’ facility so that with the help of these, patients be taken to other hospitals for proper treatment as per need.
