An alert has been sounded in Uttarakhand to deal with the coronavirus spreading in China. The Health Department has issued a health advisory to all the districts for the prevention of the virus and directed to deploy teams of doctors for monitoring the check posts along the Nepal border.
At the press conference, Director General of Health, Dr. Amita Upreti said that teams of doctors will be deployed for monitoring the check posts in the border areas of Dharchula, Banbasa, Mankot, Jauljeevi, Jhulaghat, Manwakot in Pithoragarh district. Every passenger coming from Nepal and China will be screened. Instructions have been issued to cooperate with the Superintendent of Police and ITBP for this.
Large hospitals and medical colleges in each district have been asked to set up Isolation Wards for the treatment of patients suspected of the corona. At the same time, instructions have also been given to arrange an ambulance and infection control. Pithoragarh district of the state is connected to the border of Nepal. Many travelers from the Nepal border come to India. Therefore, an alert has been issued regarding the coronavirus.
Teams will be stationed at three airports in the state
Teams of doctors will be stationed at Jollygrant, Pantnagar Airport and Naini Saini Helipad of Pithoragarh to monitor the coronavirus-infected patients. Passengers coming from Nepal and China will be monitored. If a traveler has symptoms of fever, cough, cold, then samples will be sent for examination.
No sample check facility in the state
If a suspected patient of coronavirus is found in the state, there is no facility of sample investigation. The sample of coronavirus will be examined only at the National Institute of Virology Poona Lab of the Central Government.
Inadequate arrangements to deal with the virus
There is no facility of Isolation in Dehradun Medical College. While the Health Department is claiming to have the facility of Isolation at every district level. Director-General says that most of the major hospitals in the state have ICU and Isolation facilities. In addition, the Department has 550 Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and an adequate quantity of medicines available.
Coronavirus symptoms and methods of prevention
Director-General of Health Dr. Amita Upreti says that the symptoms of the virus are fever, cough, cold, sore throat, breathlessness and pneumonia. These symptoms usually occur in patients during the winter season. Due to which the virus is difficult to detect. The effect of the virus lasts from 1 to 15 days. Symptoms of the virus can be detected only after five days.

The coronavirus spreads to others by coming into contact with a person suffering from it. The patient infected with the disease should cover the mouth and nose with a handkerchief while coughing and sneezing. After coming from outside and before eating food, wash hands with soap. Drink plenty of water. Do not shake hands with a person suffering from Coronavirus.
Center knows the state of preparations
In Uttarakhand, Union Health Secretary Preeti Sudan spoke to Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar over video conferencing to prevent coronavirus. The center instructed to take utmost care in districts adjacent to the Nepal border. The Chief Secretary informed that medical teams have been deployed in the border area to monitor tourists coming from the affected countries in the districts of Champawat, Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar.
Ambulances have been deployed with medical teams at all airports. A total of 169 isolation beds are available in all districts for the treatment of coronavirus patients. The Chief Secretary has given instructions to the Secretary Panchayat for wide publicity at the village level. Director General of Police Anil Raturi has been asked to coordinate with the medical teams.
