On the CBI investigation of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat quipped that Harish Rawat needs to think for himself why such a situation came up. He said that he must consider that if we keep those who are in the business of black marketing with us, then how will we save ourselves. He said that a person with a political and social image should live in dignity.
The BJP has once again attacked the Congress on the sting of Harish Rawat. Along with CM Trivendra Rawat, the state president of BJP also attacked Harish Rawat in this case. BJP State President and MP Ajay Bhatt said in a statement that the allegations made by Rawat and other Congress leaders about the process of registering a case against Harish Rawat by the CBI that the BJP governments are behind it are completely baseless.
He said that the truth is the process of this investigation started on the recommendation of the then Governor when Harish Rawat himself was the Chief Minister of the Congress Government of Uttarakhand. Bhatt said that when the Harish Rawat government started the act by proving majority in the assembly, his cabinet decided to cancel the recommendation of the governor, in which the decision to conduct the investigation of the sting was taken by the CBI.
Later, the High Court quashed this decision of the cabinet saying that the cabinet did not have the authority. Bhatt said that now that the CBI has reached a conclusion after the investigation and if it can register a case against Harish Rawat, then Congress’ accusation of BJP in this case is politically motivated.
