In the presence of the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the state government signed an agreement with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh for five years to provide higher level of medical services through Government Allopathic Hospital, Primary Health Centre, Raiwala, Dhanaulti (Tehri district) Primary Health Centre, Thano and sub-centre at Ramnagar Danda (Dehradun district) at secretariat on Thursday.
The services of prenatal, childbirth and postnatal, youth health, family welfare, national programmes, emergency medical services, OPD and IPD services free of cost will be provided in the institute without the government paying a penny to it. The services will be provided further if found satisfactory.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed by the Uttarakhand state government and The Hans Foundation, New Delhi under which the foundation will manage Government Allopathic Hospital, Khati, in Bageshwar district for five years. To provide quality medical services to the people, the period will be extended by two more years if found satisfactory.
As per the agreement, the foundation will provide one MBBS doctor, one pharmacist, one ward boy and one sanitation worker, prenatal, childbirth and postnatal, youth health, family welfare, emergency medical services, IPD and OPD services, and also 29 types of essential medicines to people for free and government will not pay anything to the foundation as well.
