On the initiative of the state government, for the first time in Uttarakhand, the drone festival is being organized on February 26 and 27.
In this, government and private companies, who will make and use drones across the country, will participate. In the festival, the remote control flyers will be able to showcase amazing stunts with drone aircraft. It will be organized jointly by the State Government and Drone Application and Research Center at IT Park Sahastradhara Road. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat will launch the festival.
Trivendra has taken this unique initiative with a vision of gathering government agencies and private sector companies that build and use drones. Under this, a two-day All India drone festival will be celebrated on February 26 and 27. There will be technical sessions in five different categories for competition, exhibition and information of drones. State Government is considering this festival as the second phase of the Investors Summit.
Its main objective is to encourage the investment of the country’s drone companies by calling them to Uttarakhand. Director of Information Technology Development Authority (ITDA), Amit Sinha, says that till date there has been a major gap between the research, government and industry in the field of drone development and use. The festival will reduce this gap and this technique will be used for maximum use for development.
“Due to the geographical situation of Uttarakhand, drone technique is very important here. Along with natural calamities, there are chances of using drone technology for mapping and monitoring in forest, fire fighting, agriculture, mining, revenue department. Government initiative is that the drone companies across the country should be attracted to the investment in the state”, said RK Sudhanshu, Secretary, Department of Information & Technology.
