District Magistrate Swati S. Bhadauria conducted a surprise inspection of Dewar Khadora, the Government Primary School and Model Anganwadi Center at Ghingharan. During this, he also sat on the ground and ate food made in the mid-day meal with the children, taking stock of the education and other arrangements being given to the children in the Anganwadi center.
The children of primary school and model Anganwadi center, Dewar Khadora, were eating everyday mid-day meals made during the day, but Wednesday was something special for them. When Chamoli District Magistrate Swati S Bhadauria also sat in the ground and ate food made with children in the mid-day meal. Actually, DM wanted to test the quality of the mid-day meal being fed to the children.
During this, she told the food maker to keep chili lesser in the children’s food, to provide safe and nutritious food. The District Magistrate inquired from the children about the different colors and shapes and tested the quality of education being given to the children. During this time the children also recited poems. The District Magistrate asked the Anganwadi worker to give practical education to the children through various paper shapes and games. She said that in addition to Hindi, children should be given information about things around them.
The District Magistrate instructed the Child Development Officer to replace the small slippers provided for children to play with the big slippers, to put good content in the audio kit and to provide proposals for the improvement of the mattresses of the Anganwadi center. During the inspection, the District Collector directed the Basic Education Officer to make a proposal to install a water filter in the school.
