The government in Uttarakhand has now begun to clamp down on reckless and corrupt personnel over the age of 50 to show a way out. Now the Secretariat Administration has summoned the details of private secretary cadre and personnel of the accounts department who are over 50 years of age who are eligible for compulsory retirement.
The state government has directed the government to bring out the corrupt, careless, and disenfranchised employees above the age of 50 years. In this, the government had issued an order in this May asking to prepare a list of such employees and submit them to the screening committee.
In fact, there is a provision in the financial handbook that any government servant attaining the age of 50 working under the State Service Cadre, can be compulsorily retired by giving his appointing authority three months’ notice or three months’ salary without assigning any reason. However, for this, the matter will be brought before the screening committee, which will decide on it.
In the same sequence, Additional Secretary Secretariat Administration Vinod Kumar Suman has asked to provide confidential data of employees of Secretariat cadre and Accounts cadre. In this list, it has been asked to include the names of such personnel, who are unable to do official work or are ill and mostly remain absent in office. Along with this, they also disregard the orders of high officials. Interfere with the editing of state functions and the integrity is suspected or found to be implicated in an investigation.
