Delhi’s youth returning from Nilkanth temple for Mahashivaratri, crushed by an elephant

Wild elephant attacked the two youths residing in the Nilkanth Mahadev temple located at Rishikesh on the Mahashivratri festival. From this, a young man died on the spot. While the other became seriously injured.

According to the information, the incident took place on Tuesday at three o’clock in the morning. When the two Shiva devotees of Delhi returned from Nilkanth Mahadev temple, they were passing through Rajaji National Park. Due to the dark dawn, they could not find the hidden wild elephant in the bush.

In the attack of an elephant, 20-year-old Deshbandhu Kumar of Delhi Karol Bagh died on the spot. While Pratap Singh resident of Rameshwar Nagar Delhi was seriously injured. On receiving information about the incident, field officer Dinesh Uniyal reached the spot with the staff. He fired the elephant towards the forest. The body of the deceased has been placed in the mortuary. While the injured has been admitted to the hospital. Both of their families have been informed of the incident.
