Dehradun in the process of being a smart city

Under the smart city project, the cost of the major roads of Doon will be 8.10 km at a cost of around 250 crore rupees. On Tuesday, the High Power Steering Committee (HPSC), headed by the Chief Secretary, has approved the DPR (Detail Project Report) of Smart Road.
A multi-utility service duct will be made on both sides of the roads and smoke sensors will be constructed alongside. In the first phase, Haridwar Road and EC Road will be made the smart cities followed by Rajpur Road and Chakrata Road in the second phase.
The Chief Secretary, Utpal Kumar Singh, and Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gamma were given a presentation on the DPR to make the Rajpur road, Chakrata road, EC road and Haridwar road in the secretariat. Additional Chief Executive Officer, Dehradun Smart City Ltd. Dr. Ashish Srivastava said that in the service duct, electricity, telephone, drinking water lines etc. will be inserted.
After the project, the roads will live longer without being dug repeatedly. Sewer lines will be laid as per the requirement of 30 years. The project has also included a budget for repair of roads for three years. The members of IIT Roorkee also send suggestions for the project which is impactful in the project.
