Dehradun: If there is no fixed revenue then liquor contracts will be closed

Chief Secretary Abkaari Anand Vardhan held a meeting with the officials and explained that no contract will be left on less than fixed revenue, even if the government has to close the contract. Contracts will be allocated under the new excise policy.

On Thursday, Chief Secretary Abkaari Anand Vardhan held a review meeting with the departmental officials in the Secretariat. In this, he said that 268 contracts in the state have not been able to stand till date. Although earlier this number was close to 350. Slowly-slowly, on the prescribed revenues, 82 contracts have already been left out on the policy of first come first serve.

The Chief Secretary said that under the new excise policy, no contract will be left on less than fixed revenue. Even if the contracts need not stop. Excise Commissioner Dipendra Chaudhary said that the meeting will be awaiting the allocation of contracts by the end of May. After the withdrawal of the code of conduct, the final decision on closure of contracts will be taken. The previous government had allocated contracts by reducing revenue.
