Dehradun: Collectorate building of smart city will be named after Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Doon’s Collectorate Bhavan (Green Building), built under the Smart City Project, will be named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat made the announcement while inaugurating the Doon Integrated Command and Control Center ‘Sadev Doon’ (Doon forever).

The center has been constructed at ITDA IT Park Sahastradhara Road at a cost of Rs 234.85 crore. He said that despite being included in the fourth list of smart cities, Uttarakhand has reached 25th place. Dehradun will become the country’s first fully smart city. Remembering the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Chief Minister announced the name of Collectorate Bhavan after him.

On this occasion, MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, MLA Ganesh Joshi, Khajan Das, Vinod Chamoli, Additional Chief Secretary Omprakash, Radha Raturi, DGP Anil Raturi, DGP Law and Order Ashok Kumar, Commissioner Garhwal Dr. Ravinath Raman, Director ITDA Amit Sinha, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Smart City CEO Dr. Ashish Srivastava, etc. were present.

Many types of services will be available

The ICCC will simultaneously monitor the city’s seven services and facilities. This will facilitate traffic monitoring, pollution level measurement, surveillance system, monitoring and execution of other facilities including Wi-Fi.

It will have facilities such as 49 traffic signals, 133 ANPR cameras, 58 red light emission detection, four-speed variation detection, 470 surveillance, 24 public address systems, 50 variable message displays, 35 emergency call boxes, 300 WiFi, 500 Smart Wins. This center will also be helpful in monitoring crowd management and other activities during the Kumbh held in Haridwar next year.

The entire Dehradun city has been included in the Smart City. Smart City CEO Dr. Ashish Srivastava informed that under this, 61 km of roads will be constructed and 100 electric buses will be purchased in the city. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat advocated the inclusion of the entire city in the Smart City Project.
