The DIG gave instructions after taking cognizance of ‘Chhapaak’ film
Action will also be taken against the police station on the sale of acid in the open
Taking cognizance of the film ‘Chhapaak’, Deputy Inspector General of Police Arun Mohan Joshi has issued instructions to conduct a special campaign against those who sell acid without a license. After this, in case of accidental checking, if acid is sold in the open anywhere, action will be taken against the concerned station in-charge.
On Monday, DIG Arun Mohan Joshi said that the Supreme Court has issued strict instructions regarding the sale of acid to curb the incidents of acid attack. In this, along with making the license of selling acid mandatory, a provision has been made to take the identity card for taking acid and make an entry in the register.
Policemen will be put in plain clothes
He said that in some places, the police in-charge has given strict instructions to take the complaints of selling acid without license seriously. The head of the police station will brief the beat constable and cheetah of the police station and ensure the action of raids at all possible places where acid is being sold in open spaces.
Mark vendors who are in violation of the High Court order by putting policemen in plain clothes. Statutory action should be taken against them. The station in-charge will report the daily activities to the SSP office. After the campaign, if the acid is found to be sold in the open in any police station area, then the responsibility of the in-charge of the police station will be fixed.
