Abstract
Textile companies are now making PPE kits when the business is closed in lockdown
Construction being done in Patel Nagar and Selaqui of Dehradun, demand to be fulfilled soon

To protect against the deadly coronavirus, the work of making the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kit has started in Uttarakhand. Textile and sportswear companies established in the state have started production of PPE kits. These kits are being used by doctors and paramedical staff treating Corona patients, to avoid the risk of infection.

Textile industries established in the state have started production of PPE kits due to the closure of the textile business in this lockdown. GB KC and Infant Equippers Company, in Patelnagar and Selaqui, Dehradun, are manufacturing PPE kits. According to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, these PPE kits include glasses, face shields, masks, gloves, gowns, head and shoe cover.

The state Health Department currently has a stock of about 3500 PPE kits. It is expected that with its production at the local level will fulfill the demand of the state as well as supply to other states.

More than 65 Pharma companies for sanitizer production
There are more than two hundred pharma companies established in the state. Most of these companies produce medicines. Due to Coronavirus infection, there has been a lot of demand for sanitizer in the market. To deal with this high demand, the state government has allowed more than 65 pharma companies to manufacture sanitizers.

Because of the increasing demand for PPE kits in the country, textile companies in the state have started production of PPE kits. Any industry that wants to produce essential goods can apply online for permission.
