In view of the increasing risk of Coronavirus infection, the state government has issued orders to close all the schools up to 12th till March 31. Only ICSE, CBSE and Uttarakhand School Board examinations will run as per schedule. Apart from this, schools from pre-nursery to class 12 will be closed.
A meeting was held in the late evening under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh on the growing cases of Coronavirus in the country.
The meeting also discussed the growing threat of Corona and the decisions being taken by neighboring states. The Health Department apprised the Chief Secretary that not a single positive case of Corona has been found in Uttarakhand so far. Despite this, the government has taken several steps for prevention and precaution.
Education Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram said that in view of the threat of Coronavirus to flourish, a decision has been taken to close all schools till 31 March. Only board exams will be according to the fixed date-sheet. According to sources, the government may decide on Friday about colleges and theaters associated with higher education and technical education.
Chief Minister can take big decisions on Friday
The state government is under pressure due to the growing threat of Coronavirus and the ongoing employee agitation in the state. Essential services like health are being affected by the movement. In such a situation, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat may take some major decisions on Friday. He has also held talks with the Chief Secretary on Thursday about the employee movement and coronavirus in the state. According to the information received, the Chief Minister will also hold a meeting with high officials in the morning. After this, he has called a press conference at 12 noon.
Crisis on 18 March program too
Many state governments have canceled their programs due to the situation arising across the country due to coronavirus infection. The state government is going to organize a big program in 70 assemblies on March 18, when the government completes three years. Due to the threat of Coronavirus, the way the government has declared leave in all schools, Congress is besieging the government regarding Coronavirus. In such a situation, the government’s three-year tenure program may also be a threat.
