Cheque bounce accused sentenced imprisonment as well as fine

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Vikas Nagar has sentenced the accused to six months’ imprisonment after the last hearing in the matter of not returning the amount of money paid in the land deal. At the same time, the Court of ACJM Madanram imposed a fine of 8 lakh 20 thousand on the accused. If the refund is not repaid, the accused will have to face additional imprisonment of one month.
Rajendra Kumar Sharma, a resident of Herbertpur in Pachwadoon, has been in contact with Maninder Singh Rawat some time ago. After this, the deal of land was decided between Rajkumar Sharma and Matendra Singh Rawat. Having done the land deal between the two, Rajkumar gave Matendra 6 lakh 42 thousand rupees as an earn money. But after the payment because of the land dispute, the registry for the land was not done.
When Rajkumar did not have the Registry of the land, he asked to return the money he had paid. As a result, Matendra gave him a cheque of 6 lakh 42 thousand rupees under the Uttaranchal Gramin bank, Herbertpur branch. But after getting the cheque bounced from the bank, Rajkumar lodged a complaint in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Vikas Nagar on July 2013, against Herbertpur resident, Matendra, son of Pratap Singh Rawat, accusing of not returning the amount.
The last hearing of the cheque bounce case that had been in the court for nearly five years was held on Monday. Court of ACJM Madanram, after hearing the arguments of both the parties, from the petitioner’s lawyer, Yashpal Singh Bhandari, and advocate of the accused, Chandra Prakash Arya, passed the order.
After hearing the case, ACJM Madanram’s court convicted Matendra Singh Rawat and sentenced six months’ imprisonment in cheque bounce case. ACJM Court imposed a fine of 8 lakh 20 thousand on the accused Matendra Rawat and sentenced additional imprisonment for not paying the fine.
